So I'm going to be living in Westwood. For some reason, the odds didn't work out for me, so bye Heronbank. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't upset. It certainly would be less frustating if I didn't also know that practically all the other Singaporeans got their first choices, even those who applied to the most popular ensuite residences. As I was telling Shirley, my entire tertiary education experience so far has been like an exercise in forcing myself to make do with the next best available option. Not that things don't eventually work out (somewhat) to my satisfaction, but they damn well could have done so right from the start. So if this is a lesson from on high, thanks, I got the message, so can things go my way a bit more frequently now? Please? Still, haven't got much of a choice, so at least the room'll be big and Tesco'll be nearby. Doesn't mean I won't try to get a transfer in Week 3 though, since I'm sure there are people who would swap the inconvenience of location to save on rent. It would take a minor miracle for me to stay. Something along the lines of finding the love of my life or a bitching buddy living in the same residence, or miraculously discovering a whole bunch of cool friends there. Have mostly settled the enrolment stuff, so all that's left is to upload a photograph for my university card. Will get that done soon. Need to buy an ISIC too, as well as some computer accessories. Think I'll head out tomorrow...
