The Language Centre at Warwick runs three different kinds of language courses. There are academic modules that can be counted toward your degree, though it need not necessarily be so. Then there are business courses, which isn't really applicable to students like myself. Finally, there are Lifelong Language Learning (LLL) courses, which even members of the public can register for. I've thought about it, and if possible, I would do an additional academic module of French language every year, but not counting it as part of my degree. I think the workload should be manageable, at least for the first year. The courses tend to be heavily subscribed, according to the university's website, so I hope I get to do them. I would do an LLL course in Italian, but the LLL courses seem too casual for my liking, and the academic module for Italian looks like more work than I'd care to take on. (It involves studying actual Italian literature!) So French it will have to be. Must brush up a little in the next couple of weeks, since the module that I'm hoping to take is considered to be a higher intermediate level one. Maybe I should stop going out so often and stay at home studying instead... |
