Woke up damn early this morning so that I wouldn't have to queue too long for my visa. In the end, the actual process took about an hour, inclusive of half an hour of waiting time. I was second in the queue! It rained awfully while I was going back though, which made me regret wearing my Havaianas, just a little. Now I have to keep my fingers crossed that the application will be approved. Judging by my friends' experiences, there seem to be multiple standards in operation here, and what works for one person might just prove insufficient for the next. Do you think it'd be different if the processing of the applications took place locally instead of across the Causeway? I suspect it might. Anyway, I went home quite pleased that the application process, at least, went so smoothly. Took a really long nap after lunch, so I ended up not going to library@esplanade before meeting the MOE people for dinner, desserts and drinks. Max Brenner's is such a nice place to just chill and soak in the chocolatey atmosphere. Must try the fondue one day, before I fly off. The Cookie Museum next door is awesome too, and I can't believe I've never been there till now. We were cheapskate and just stood outside to sample some of the cookies. The lady who served us was really pleasant and helpful though! Then after dithering for a bit, we wound up in Harry's. I had some ridiculously sweet concoction, that bordered on medicinal. Would have picked something else, but my wallet can't handle it. Yet. Took a bunch of pictures throughout the evening, which I'll upload soon. There's an awesome shot where Caleb looks like he's trying to eat a glass. |
