I went down to the Dell roadshow at Lot 1 tonight, like I said I would. I ended up buying the Inspiron 1525 instead of the 1720 though, and I spent only around $2000. I'm thinking that I'll use what's left of the MOE subsidy to get a Logitech webcame, an external hard drive, and a good laptop lock. Was in the library today before service, freezing while I read A.K. Dewdney's Beyond Reason, which details eight problems that have defied the collective abilities of humanity thus far to solve them. I understood the first half of the book better, because the mathematics there was applied in practical terms. The second half sort of lost me after the chapter on squaring the circle because the mathematics got too technical and I don't have the kind of background to grasp it. That and I was trying to finish the book before service started, so I sort of skimmed through the last few chapters, which had the densest mathematics. Haha...
