I feel accomplished. I just settled tickets for the stuff my friends and I want to watch at OCBC Singapore Theatre Festival. Of course, someone had to be prodded virtually several times before he got back to me! Today's sessions were a repeat of Tuesday's in terms of consistency of quality. The first session by the vice-principal of Qiaonan Primary School was really good! She was so engaging as she was sharing about her personal experiences, one almost didn't notice the time passing by, and she had two hours to work with. Then followed two dry sessions, one on drugs and one on personal safety, neither of which was especially illuminating. I must say though that the people who manufacture drugs illicitly are innovative, albeit in a twisted way. Glass dust combined with rat poison. The former to cut the bowels in order to allow quicker absorption of the drug, the latter to prevent clotting of the blood at the wound because it contains anticoagulants. The sharing after that by senior scholars was informative, although perhaps a bit London-centric since two of them hail from London universities, but there are a sizeable number of us who are not going to be living in London when we're abroad. After the whole day at MOE, I decided to join some of them at Goodwood Park Hotel for the dessert buffet. Definitely didn't regret the impulsive decision, because I loved the desserts! I thought there could have been more interesting variety with the cakes, but I loved the durian puffs anyway. Didn't think I would, but there you go. We spent a few hours stuffing ourselves and taking pictures, which was good fun. Now, however, it's time for me to crash into bed because I'm desperately tired after this eventful week...
