Fried Chicken Day/Republican Party Day/Kissing Day (UK)

Am sitting outside my tent, talking to my new friends because it's too stuff inside the tent to sleep, although I will eventually at some point. It's just that the breeze outside feels better for the moment, and the company in the dark is pleasant. I kept waking up last night because I'm not used to sleeping anywhere other than in my own room, except unlike in my NS days, I didn't have my handphone with me to check what time in the early morning it was. Anyway, after breakfast, we headed out to the water for some simple lessons and drills before we began our sea expedition. Kayaking is fun! I think I should do it more often, but I don't know who among my friends would join me. I didn't get much of a tan though, since I was in long sleeves and long pants. My hands are a bit burnt though, which is a bit sucky but at least it doesn't hurt too much. We got lost at a couple of points, but nothing serious, so we still made it to our campsite with daylight to spare. The irony was that our stuff, which was supposed to have arrived before us, didn't arrive until about half an hour after we did! Dinner was actually not bad, although in such situations, practically anything tastes fantastic. I quite like canned tuna though, I've realised. I must admit that I don't really like being dirty in the great outdoors, but if it's just for a short spell, like a couple of days, I can handle it. The one thing I find most annoying is actually the mosquitoes! My arms and legs are going to look super gross for a few days. Sigh...
