Workaholics Day/Anxiety Day
2008-07-05 @ 9:21 p.m.

So I'm back at OBS again after six years. I'm in Holt this time, and my watch is the smallest among those of the overseas scholars. Not that I mind, because a smaller group makes it easier to remember everyone's names and I find it less stressful as a social situation. We originally thought we'd be mixed with the local scholars, because that's what we were told during our briefing at MOE. Turns out we won't, as they'll be staying for one more day than us. I sort of didn't mind, as one of the things I wasn't looking forward to was getting to know a whole new bunch of people, when I was just getting comfortable with the overseas people. So once again, it was less stressful. We didn't do much today other than some short activities and climbing the inverse tower. Oh, there was this really cool activity where there was a picture book that we had to rearrange into order. Each page was zoomed in from the previous one, so we had to be really precise in our descriptions to get the order right, which we did! I made it to the top this time, unlike in Secondary 3. This was the side with the series of parallel logs. My friend and I took close to an hour though, which wasn't a very good use of time. In the end, only four of us made it to the top, with the rest climbing on the inner structures or not reaching the top. I'm glad to have reached the top, because at first I didn't really think I could. It's scary being up there, but it's a psychological barrier that has to be overcome, otherwise you can't move at all. Then at night, we packed for tomorrow's sea expedition. Definitely going to get wet and dirty, but it's also going to be really exciting!
