I spent today watching the first four episodes of Dexter, and I'm completely bowled over. Dexter Morgan is now right at the top of my list of fascinating television characters, along with Gregory House and Brian Kinney. What they all have in common is an unflinching desire to live life in accordance to their own internal compass, a quality that I admire greatly because in my own way it's what I try to do. I'm now quite keen to check out Jeff Lindsay's novels, which inspired the television series. Was checking out the plot summaries on Wikipedia, and they reminded me of Tess Gerritsen's novels, from The Sinner onwards. Actually stopped buying her novels a couple of years ago, although maybe I'll try to find the more recent ones that I don't own in the library.
