Flying Saucer Day/Swim A Lap Day/Feast Of John The Baptist/Columnist's Day
2008-06-24 @ 8:14 p.m.

I'm a little taken aback by how easy it is to get electronic music by surfing through Chinese forums. I've just found albums by Blue Stone, Mythos and Ryan Farish that I've been trying unsuccessfully to get via torrents. I've also managed to get my hands on Amethystium's latest album, Isabliss. I think it's about the same standard as the last studio album, Evermind, which basically means that it's good aural candy, but isn't particularly astounding, at least not in the way that Aphelion was. I still haven't quite heard a song that measures up to the intensity of Shadow To Light on that album. That's the problem with crafting too good a song. After that, everything else you produce will forever be measured against that standard and found wanting. Another example would be how nothing in Lesiëm's second and third albums could ever compare to Fundamentum on the debut album. Labelmate Magna Canta had more luck, since I think Pater Noster on Sanctuary is pretty much superior to anything on Enchanted Spirits. Am going shopping tomorrow! Hope I find more cheap jeans...
