Time Out Day/Independence Day (Zimbabwe)/Mahavir Jayanti/Paul Revere Day/Gold Festival (North Carolina)/Scottish Festival (Arkansas)

Went down to Times at Plaza Singapura to buy Johann S. Lee's novels (Peculiar Chris and To Know Where I'm Coming From), which I'd been meaning to since I saw Asian Boys Vol. 3: Happy Endings last year, but his first novel was only recently republished. Anyway, that wasn't the main reason I was outside. Was supposed to meet Eng Fa to shop for Joo Sheng's birthday present in Takashimaya. Xiao Hui came along too, and we ended up buying a wallet. If I hadn't decided which wallet it would be, we'd probably have arrived at Joo Sheng's place an hour later than we did. Saw friends that I haven't seen in months, and might not see for years even, once I fly to the UK. Oddly enough, I may see some of them again once we're done with university, as quite a handful are also prospective teachers like myself...
