Had dinner with the Kua sisters and Mel Goh at Subway in Great World City. So embarrassing man! We laughed so loudly that I'm sure people were staring at us. There was a nice lady who chased her children to hurry up and finish, so that we could join her tables to ours to seat all six of us. Not so nice was the person who served us, who gave us only two choices of bread when she could have told us to wait a while longer and there'd have been freshly baked loaves of what we actually wanted. This is why I don't believe that survey in The Straits Times that says we are around 70% in terms of service standards. Get real! I have to work tomorrow, which is somewhat depressing. First three-hour session! Hope I don't mess up. Oh well. Live and learn. Anyway, I won't be able to take up many assignments from June onwards, I think. I finally got my hands on M. Pokora's latest album, the rather unimaginatively titled MP3. It'd have been an okay album, one of those Timbaland productions, if only Justin Timberlake hadn't already brought SexyBack in 2006. That said, I personally find Pokora's voice less annoying than Timberlake's, and the layering of sounds in MP3 is a bit lusher than FutureSex/LoveSounds. The songs start to blend into one another after a while though, so the album as a whole is ultimately pretty forgettable. If MP3 is Pokora's attempt to gain recognition outside of the French scene, it's a rather weak effort. Nonetheless, his looks, combined with Timbaland's backing, mean that the album will probably enjoy some initial success. Probably should have picked a song other than Dangerous for the first single though... This week: Library Week |
