My latest musical discovery is Starfield, who recorded a version of Be Thou My Vision in their self-published first album that I quite enjoy. They've also done a cover of Hillsong United's Hosanna on their most recent release, I Will Go, which completely remakes a meditative, mid-tempo track into something that sounds like, well, just about any other modern worship band out there. Objectively, the original is undoubtedly superior in terms of its musical arrangement. The cover, however, is a lot more radio-friendly, which is the way I like most of my Christian music. Have been thinking of possible new songs to introduce at service, and after having heard Jared Anderson's Hear Us From Heaven used in the BB video yesterday, I think it could work. Maybe for May? Still using For Who You Are and Blessed Be Your Name in April. I'm going to watch Lucky 7 with Ben Woon and Kay Hwee!
