Say Hi To Mom Day/Multiple Personality Day/Bridge Players Day/Stop The Clocks Day/Festival Of Flowers (Alabama)
2008-03-05 @ 11:56 p.m.

So today the photographer came down to take pictures of me and my mum with our VHS tapes. Quite a friendly guy, I guess, although if you're good you could fake it for such a brief period of time. (I prefer to think positively!) Anyway, I must say that I would never pose for a picture like that with my mum. So fake! I am good at smiling for the camera though. The photographer commented midway through the shoot that I have a "consistent" smile. I suppose he meant it in a good way. I'm curious to see which shot will make it into the newspapers, because he took about 15. Haha! Then I ended up being late meeting Thong in Orchard because I was downloading Shawn McDonald songs. Didn't manage to get them all done before I left, but they're done now! My downloading spree is officially over and done with. I need to spend my time on more productive stuff now. Anyway, I arrived in time to hear him complaining to Xin Tian about how we were all late. So she accompanied us to Borders and we waited for Eugene and Kay Hwee to show up. After a lot of discussion and mooching about the shelves, finally bought Kaimin a present. Wasn't quite what I had in mind, but what the heck, it's a novel idea.

Then we went shopping! I was supposed to get accessories at Topman because they're cheap, but Audrey has just informed me that for what I have in mind, 77th Street is even cheaper, so thankfully I didn't buy anything. The rings on display were all huge! Like wear-on-my-thumb-and-it's-still-loose that kind of huge. Shall go to another Topman outlet next time. Maybe the one at VivoCity? Thus began our exploration of Wisma Atria's shops. Topman. French Connection. Springfield. G-Star. Esprit. GAP. I resisted the urge to buy stuff, even when we were at Esprit and the jeans were still going for 30% off like when I bought them just before Chinese New Year at Northpoint. (I suspect they're trying to clear their old stock, but at 30% off, the price feels just right to me anyway.) So proud of myself. Once I start working though...

So we finally had dinner at Ichiban Boshi, after Thong got a shirt from Esprit, which was a rather nice shirt, if I may say so. I want to try the fruit sorbets the next time we eat there! They look delectable. So bummed our way back to Wheelock Place after that, as Kay Hwee was looking to either get his handphone repaired or buy a new one. Unfortunately, we arrived 20 minutes after the Nokia shop had closed. So Eugene, Thong and I went to The Cathay to meet the former's friend, Colin. I realised that I actually knew Colin even before Eugene did, way back in JC, because I used to bump into him on the way to school when taking the train down. I just didn't recognise him because he's lost weight since then. That sort of explained why the first comment he made upon seeing me was that I've lost weight, which is true, given that he hasn't seen me since JC. Random connections! Don't you just love them? I also discovered that the type of Havaianas that I want to buy only cost $29.90, so maybe I'll go back to NUM to get them. Bummed in Starbucks for about an hour, just talking. J'aime bien bavarder!
