Presidents' Day/Thumb Appreciation Day/Pluto Day
2008-02-18 @ 11:06 p.m.

I suspect I either have an ulcer on my gum, or it's a small infection caused by the eruption of my wisdom tooth. My mum didn't freak out when I told her, although I somewhat live in terror of things like gum disease and teeth falling out. Must remember to book an appointment with the dentist soon, even if it gets better. Have just got back from another unstimulating lecture. Was chatting with Ka Tsai via SMS throughout, so the three hours weren't entirely boring. He says that in comparison with himself, I'm a colourful personality. Feel free to disagree because they were his words, not mine. I suppose with the qualifier, yeah, fair enough. Though I must say that I personally think that while I'm no wallflower, I'm hardly the spice of life either. In fact, as I confessed to Ka Tsai, I dread becoming the proverbial boring man in the (metaphorical) bowler hat, which was actually why he reassured me in the first place that I was too colourful to end up as one of Magritte's faceless men. A subsequent comment on where we hope to be in a decade's time when we hit 30 seems to have further established his point. Shallow as it may sound, on some level I do want to be an object of envy by the time I'm 30. I think it'd be quite the achievement, all things considered. Haha...
