Pizza Pie Day/Weather Day/Toothache Day
2008-02-09 @ 11:23 p.m.

Went to Tim's house today, where I had to wait at the void deck for about an hour for everyone to arrive. I'm not complaining because I was finishing a book, I'm just saying. Anyway, the Geodesica books, Ascent and Descent, make for decent reading. Descent is the less exciting of the two, although the way all the plot elements fall into place at the end makes up for it. I think the epic timeframe that it encompasses could have been better fleshed out, but it's not really practical unless this were one of those hefty multi-novel series like the Darkover or Dune novels. We played mahjong and ordered pizza for dinner. The pizzas came really late, and the side orders were soggy and kind of gross. Very bad service! Maybe it's because it's Chinese New Year, things tend to go haywire around then, but still, in the service industry, that's hardly an acceptable excuse. I think I'm getting better at mahjong, or it might just be that I'm playing with lousy people like Myrtle and Sarah. Haha...
