Lent/Ash Wednesday/Pay A Compliment Day/Reggae Day/Bird Festival (California)
2008-02-06 @ 8:48 p.m.

If I knew my friends' tastes in music better, I would just make them custom compilations for their birthdays. Just a random thought. I've been reading up a bit on natural satellites lately, because I like the order that the naming conventions of the IAU imposes on what is otherwise a very chaotic Solar System. Sort of like why I'm fascinated by the periodic table of elements. I remember I used to play a game with Conrad, a choir senior, where we tooks turn to name the moons of the planets until one of us slipped up and forgot what moons were left. If we were to play that game today, the potential number of answers would be doubled. Even Pluto, despite being demoted to the status of "dwarf planet", has two more moons now than it used to have - Nix and Hydra. Of all the planets, I think Uranus has the moons with the best names, because they all come from Shakespeare or Pope's The Rape Of The Lock. Saturn has the worst, some of them are frankly unpronounceable if you don't look the name up first. Sorry if this entry's a bit random. I'm a wee bit interested in space. I like to think that before the Second Coming, humanity'll at least get a chance to scatter to the stars, however unlikely that dream might seem.
