Lesson tomorrow with the lecturer who's practically inaudible. Sent a total of one SMS so far today. It shows that I can keep myself from firing off random missives, but life's a tad dull because of my restraint. Still trying to finish reading Ben Okri's Starbook. I've given up and decided that I do kind of like Rihanna's music. It's that damn song, Don't Stop The Music. How can one not groove to that song? I still think the chorus of Umbrella is terribly banal though. Coated one wall of my room with emulsion because my mum was giving me the evil eye for not volunteering my services after she specifically said yesterday that she had things to do. Painting is terribly boring, and having to watch out for drips takes all the fun out of things. I'm a great believer in the random-splashes-of-paint-on-canvas school. I think they call it abstract art in more educated circles. I have a quote somewhere on that, which I used as an epigraph for one of my own poems. Let me go look it up. Ah. Found it. Albert Camus. "Abstract Art: A product of the untalented, sold by the unprincipled to the utterly bewildered." Acerbic, but not without more than a few grains of truth. I'm not posting the link to the poem I wrote in response to that quotation, because it isn't really that good. Haha...
