Dress Up Your Pet Day/Clean Off Your Desk Day/Coming-Of-Age Day/Assembly Line Worker's Day

Having borrowed more Ethos publications from the National Library, I'm inclined to the opinion that while Ethos and Firstfruits publications are generally potentially worth reading, between the two Firstfruits has the better covers. Have been making attempts to find a job in order to placate my mum. The trouble is that the temporary/part-time stuff all seems to be clerical/administrative work, which sounds to me like code for pretty much the same life as I had in the army. I wonder what gave it away? Think it was the multiple variations on the phrase "any other assigned tasks" that perturbed me. Thing is, I don't desperately need the money from a job. With a bit of prudent planning, I can get by on $350 a month until I fly overseas (which is what my parents are giving me right now), but I would like to have more spending power. Now. Heck, who doesn't, at my age anyway? You don't get raised in a society that celebrates shopping as one of the national pastimes (alongside eating) without imbibing some measure of materialism (and getting plump). I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I want to do something that I personally find meaningful, even if it isn't necessarily financially very rewarding. That and bumming hasn't quite lost its appeal yet. Haha...
