Last night, Thong wondered how much we'd remember in the clear light of day. To ascertain this, I left off blogging until I'd had some sleep (so this is obviously another of those backdated entries). I did post all the photographs on Facebook once I got home though! Okay. Let us begin. So we met in Central, outside the Nokia store. I was early and everyone else was late. We decided to have Balinese at Bayang, because it was cheaper than The Tapas Tree and other alternative dinner venues. I had a bak mee goreng serai, which was okay. Took a picture of it! We stayed at Bayang until we noticed that it was starting to get smoky inside, whereupon we left for Forbidden City. We first asked if there was a cover charge, and being told that there wasn't, we left for the ATM at Liang Court to get some cash. Headed to Brewerkz to grab a (relatively) cheaper drink first, and since Thong and I have an aversion to bitter beers, we got Fruitbrewz Raspberry, which didn't taste much of raspberry but was still way sweeter than the India Pale Ale we had the last time we were there before The Pillowman. (I just read on Wikipedia that the higher hops content lends IPA its distinct bitterness, so what the heck was the waitress thinking recommending it to us then as something that was already quite sweet?) Then Vaish and I decided we wanted a plate of fried cheese sticks, which Derrick and Thong ended up partaking of too. By this time it was 10 pm, which was a reasonable time to step into the club, I guess. There was nothing happening at Forbidden City though, so we headed to Gotham Penthouse, where we eventually had the cover charge waived for us because Vaish's friend works there. How awesome was that? In total, this is what I drank the whole night: Fruitbrewz Raspberry, lime daiquiri, tequila shot, rum shot, shot of something that tasted of liquorice, shot of something so sweet you couldn't taste the alcohol, and Jack Daniel's and green tea. The sum total of that is more alcohol than I've ever consumed at one sitting, but oddly enough, I felt better than I did at the Christmas Eve party. To cut a long story short (because every picture on Facebook's worth 1000 words and I've already convinced Thong that I do remember almost 100% of what happened last night), we did end up on the dancefloor. Yeah, all four of us, though Thong was somewhat more sporadic in his attendance. It's too bad my handphone died at this point, or there'd have been more incriminating pictures going up on Facebook! (As it is, the ones uploaded are already quite mortifying, particularly for Vaish. I have slitty eyes in all my photographs. Need to practice not blinking when snapping with flash!) We danced until the DJ finished playing SexyBack, which was when we agreed we'd leave. It was around 2 am by this point. Cabbed home with Thong and Vaish, who owe me money now. I'm seriously very, very broke, so I think I won't be going out for a long, long time, unless it involves doing something free. Haha... |
