Kwanzaa/Boxing Day/Candy Cane Day/Coffee Percolator Day/St. Stephen's Day/Boxing Day (UK)

Watched No Reservations on the flight here. It was okay. My only complaints are the ending was too abrupt and I just cannot see Aaron Eckhart and Catherine Zeta-Jones as a couple. Individually, they're hot stuff, but pairing them just doesn't wash, though I suppose that was kind of the point. Also saw L'Uomo Perfetto, an Italian movie that was predictable in the way that only European films can get away with. I can totally see it being remade by Hollywood and then getting panned by critics. I guess it helps that the cast was realistically attractive. The main problem with Hollywood, I feel, is that it sells an unattainable image of beauty. Took some pictures at some tower, which was actually a very boring place. Anyway, after a night in Shanghai, I've come to two conclusions: One, my parents don't really know how to react when they've been conned. Not that I handle it brilliantly myself, I'm just saying that they don't. Two, for Chinese Singaporeans, being trilingual is a must. It's always useful to have a language that you can converse in without being understood by the people around you, especially in China, where even English isn't enough to guarantee non-comprehension.
