Bake Cookies Day/Flake Appreciation Day/International Migrants Day
2007-12-18 @ 11:10 p.m.

Don't you just love it when a friend says something that you're also secretly thinking about, without realising it? This is the kind of weird thing that amuses me. Eugene understands what I mean, I guess. Had dinner with Shaun and Yi-Xun at tcc, before catching Lord Of The Flies with the latter. Shaun is still Shaun, although he does look more mature now that he's in university. Not that he wasn't before or anything. He just looks it now. Lord Of The Flies was okay, although like Yi-Xun said, the ending is a bit of a deus ex machina, even in the original novel. It was even more awkward in the theatrical version! Watching grown men acting as boys less than half their actual chronological age requires more willing suspension of disbelief than I have to offer, shaved armpits and legs notwithstanding. I thought Claudio Girardi's Ralph wasn't, well, convincing. I always remembered Ralph as being more of a leader than that, albeit a reluctant one. Ian Tan as Roger was good, in a freaky, totally psychotic way. Shane Mardjuki's character was annoying, although props to him for pulling it off. Liked him way better in The Pillowman though. Ditto for Michael Corbridge, because Piggy's just not very likeable, is he? Haha...
