Have zipped through the cognitive dissonance portion of the essay in way less time than expected, which sort of gives me the assurance that I will finish the essay by tomorrow evening. I had to leave out lots of stuff though! The problem with psychology is that everything's too damn balanced. For just about every position you can adopt, someone else has an experiment or study to support the opposite conclusion, which you have to acknowledge, especially since the essay at this level's more of a literature review than anything else. I'm actually very lazy. I rely on textbook arguments mostly, with random studies that I pluck off the Internet to back me up. The whole looking for archived journals thing? So not me. If I can't find the electronic version, I just don't use it. I only ever aim to hit 10 references in each essay anyway, so anything above that's a bonus to me. Shall try to finish the self-perception section by tonight! Guess I'll have to wait a few more days to head to Sinema Old School to make payment... |
