Oh man! Two days after I walk through Kinokuniya, fantasising about buying stacks of books, and the next time I know, I'm getting an e-mail that cheerfully informs me there's going to be a store-wide 20% members' discount. How can I resist such temptation? At the very least, I have to get the Dune series. If I want to go for broke (literally), I'll throw in whatever books from the Darkover series I can find which I don't already own. I'm so psyched! I'm a bit of a collector when it comes to books. To justify such a huge expenditure to myself, I must finish reading at least one book in the Dune series that I already own. Otherwise, it just makes no sense and I might as well wait till the next time there's a members' discount. There's bound to be one around Christmas, so maybe by Saturday I'll have convinced myself to hold off till then. Played mahjong today at Ben Woon's place, and I won five consecutive games. That has got to be my best winning streak. Ever. We played for small stakes, just for fun because we didn't make Ben pay us. Yeah, he lost practically all his initial capital of $10. He was just really, really unlucky today. Bought a black shirt from Man Studio, where the staff member was extremely solicitous, probably because I was her first customer of the day. I think the clothes there are pretty worth it, especially considering that for a similar price what I can find at say, Topman, is really boring in comparison. Will probably go back again soon to get more stuff, maybe a pair of jeans this time.
