I signed up for modules on Wednesdays and Thursdays for next semester. I figure that there's no point going for lessons on Fridays because that's such a bummer, and because I want to have a social life as far as possible, Saturdays are also out of the question. Created the Jose Cortasar character, but I think it's hard to use his Cannon Burst stance. I'd rather use Blandir Cruz, but then it kind of defeats the purpose of having his ability to use cannons. Oh well. I still want to get Catherine the Summoner! I'm a bit obsessed with Granado Espada. I think it's escapism really, since my real life is kind of boring. The most exciting thing I have lined up this week is dinner with church friends, and that's only because I decided to ask a bunch of people out for dinner. What happened to growing up and living an exciting life away from school uniforms and tedium? I finished reading Real today, and while I liked it, it just didn't feel like great literature. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book, but these days, contemporary literature just doesn't feel like it pulls its weight, if you get what I mean. I think it's symptomatic of culture in general. Someone must have said what I'm trying to articulate, and more clearly too, so I won't bother launching into a grand discourse. I've decided that I have four broad interests and these will occupy the rest of my life - chemistry, literature, music and Romance languages. The first is kind of the odd one out, but I just like chemistry. Physics is too dry for me, whereas I find biology is too messy (figuratively and literally), so chemistry occupies the comfortable via media. Plus I like patterns, and if you look at the elements and the various compounds they form, it's amazing. Haha! I also like fractals, but there I'm a bit more of a dilettante, since I don't even really understand the concept of a fractal dimension anyway. I just think they're very aesthetically pleasing. |
