Thank You Day/God Bless America Day/Citizenship Day/Constitution Day
2007-09-17 @ 9:31 p.m.

Love your enemies. Such a hard lesson to put into practice, when everyday I see the idle and wicked profit. Today was certainly no exception. So after being bitter and grumpy for the entire day, I've grudgingly decided to do someone I normally wouldn't even acknowledge as an acquaintance a favour and replace him as one of the marshals for tomorrow's HLS. Of course I'm not being entirely altruistic, since I don't really feel like running. I'd like to run, but I resent being compelled to. Weird? I guess. Finished reading 66 Laps by Leslie Lehr Spirson. It's an interesting twist on the theme of adultery, but ultimately, it doesn't feel like a particularly meaty novel. I'm not overly fond of first-person narratives either. Anyway, I was having another of my random SMS conversations with Eugene this afternoon, revolving around one of my perennial favourite topics - beauty versus brains. Which would you rather have? For me, to put it bluntly, I'd rather be hot than smart. The way I figure it, people generally forgive the good-looking for being dumb, but not the intelligent for being ugly. Naturally, who wouldn't want to have the best of both worlds? If it came down to an either-or choice though, it's definitely looks for me. Terribly shallow, I know, so you'll just have to excuse me.
