Independence Day (Pakistan)/Social Security Day/Financial Awareness Day
2007-08-14 @ 9:51 p.m.

Spending the day alone in camp wasn't as bad as it sounds. Stayed in the office most of the time working on lesson plans, so technically I wasn't entirely alone. Finished a second one, so that should ward off my boss for a few more days. Managed to finish reading another volume of the Tales Of The City series, and I'm really starting to feel for the characters. They're the kind of instantly accessible characters that would turn television shows into monster hits, so it's hardly surprising that the first few volumes in the series have been adapted for television. Flag-lowering today was a ghastly affair, because I was with two other people who were marginally more clueless than me, then ISM decided to come down to watch and started scolding us. Like whatever. What a total waste of an hour! Bumped into an ex-classmate on my way out, or rather he made the effort to catch up with me, in both senses. Me, I'm more likely to avoid a familiar face if I come across it by accident. Like just now, when I spotted Thong going up the escalator at Lot 1. I could have called out, but since he didn't see me, I figured there wasn't any point. I'm very good at communicating by SMS, very much less so in the flesh.
