Lollipop Day/Moon Day/Fortune Cookie Day/Chess Day/Ugly Truck Day/Leprechaun Days (Minnesota)/Ocean Festival (Oregon)/Irish Cultural Festival (Ohio)
2007-07-20 @ 10:02 p.m.

Ran, jogged, walked 15 km today, which is the longest distance I've ever covered on foot in my life, excluding route marches. Actually didn't feel too bad after the whole thing, though now that I've covered the required distance to participate in AHM, I don't think I'll be running such a long distance again until the day itself. It's not that I can't do it, but I just don't see the point of expending the energy. Could never understand what motivated people like Ka Tsai and Ming Yong to go for their insane runs, and I still can't understand it now, like I told Ka Tsai via SMS after I'd got back to the store. Had an NE event in the afternoon to commemorate Racial Harmony Day (which is actually tomorrow). Haven't had one of those in a long time, but I still find it incredibly pointless. The traditional games were juvenile, and the only thing that vaguely interested me was when they showed us the various spices used in Chinese, Malay and Indian cooking. Then my boss ended the day by scolding us for not getting the lesson plans done, and now it seems like I'm going to be part of the team of people churning them out for the next fortnight. Well, I guess it beats having to deal with the trainees...
