The one thing worse than teaching trainees is teaching trainees with an incompetent colleague. Dude, we went through exactly the same course more than a year ago, so why are you so clueless compared to me? Seriously, learn to troubleshoot instead of running to me for help at the first sign of trouble. Anyway, was an hour late meeting Claudia and Eugene at Balaclava (which was really packed). Partly because I was expecting to book out from camp early but didn't, partly because I was buying a shirt at Man Studio. Was there to hear Shou Jie play a set. Got introduced to Joanna Dong, who has such a sweet and enchanting voice (to quote Eugene), and is one of those genuinely delightful people that Singapore seems to turn out in such small quantities. Bao En, Daniel and Derrick joined us for dinner at Crystal Jade, where we must have driven the staff mad by taking so long to make the last order of the night and taking forever to clear off. Haha! Wandered around the Esplanade area, with Bao En pointing out NDP-related stuff. Like this bizarre WOW bridge. The acronym stands for Walking On Water. Then again, what did you expect from the country that's bringing you PossibiCity? Wound up in Harry's, nursing a cocktail and listening to Paul Ponnudorai. (He shook our hands! I just felt like I should note that down here for posterity.) Why can't more of my life be like this, just hanging out with people I like and not worrying about what the next day will bring? It's times like these that make me feel fundamentally unsuited for life in the Garden City. |
