Finished reading Jonathan Land's The Spam Letters and Paul Coelho's Manual Of The Warrior Of Light, so I went to the library at Woodlands to return them and pick up four Egan books. When I've devoured them all, I'll have read all the Egan that the NLB has to offer! Randomly, I think canons are fascinating. Partly because I'm a bit obsessed with Pachelbel's Canon in D, and partly because I read about Bach's "endlessly rising canon" somewhere and thought it was such a cool piece of music to write. Then I did a bit of lazy research and learnt that there are all sorts of musical canons, which I find fascinating because a canon is essentially an intricate musical pattern. However it is written, there is still a pattern. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive about patterns. Like I find the periodic table really neat, and I delight in knowing completely useless things like the names of all the moons in the solar system. This is such a random entry, but there you have it. It sure beats writing about camp boredom though... This week: Freedom Week |
