As predicted, I kept dozing off at main service. Kind of a pity, as today's Trinity Sunday and the sermon was about the Trinity, which is one of the topics I'm interested in. The only two things I remember from today's sermon are the comparison of the Trinity to man being composed of body, soul and spirit, and how the person of the Trinity that a particular denomination chooses to focus on affects its whole culture, which I thought was pretty true. In brief, Roman Catholics focus on the Father, mainline Protestants focus on the Son, Pentecostals and charismatics focus on the Holy Spirit. Just compare the different church cultures and you'll see how there's a grain of truth to what the preacher was saying. I was probably able to stay awake because these were the only parts of the sermon that managed to capture my sleep-deprived brain's attention. Am probably going to buy my psychology textbook from some second-hand book blog, because it's really a lot cheaper. Probably get the person to meet me in town on Saturday, assuming I'm headed there to shop with Eugene. Otherwise, I'll see if the person'll meet me at Queenstown MRT before cell. Finally, progress! I'm getting better at the whole displaying initiative thing... This week: Black Single Parents Week |
