It seems that mine is the sort of face that attracts girls. This is according to a camp colleague and his friend, who are both almost certainly ignorant of the fact that I've never dated anyone in my life, much less had a girlfriend. Altogether a mildly amusing disjunction between expectation and reality. According to Eugene, who was uncharacteristically generous in his assessment, it may be that what I offer is commitment, which is chemically different from the "spark" that first drives people into each other's arms. Or so he says National Geographic says. Whatever the case, it still makes me feel like an antiquated fellow. Ah well, it's their loss...
