Cinco De Mayo/Halfway Point Of Spring/Chocolate Custard Day/Derby Day/Hoagie Day/International Midwives' Day/Scrapbook Day/Homebrew Day/Children's Day (Japan)

Spent most of the afternoon and evening with Eugene, wandering through various clothing stores. Armani Exchange, French Connection, G-Star, New Urban Male, Topman, Zara - a veritable budget-busting array of shops! I've realised that what I'm trying to find isn't so much particular pieces of clothing but a specific look. Hard to articulate what that look entails, but I know it when I see it. Sometimes I even manage to achieve it with the clothes I already own! We had dinner at Brotzeit in VivoCity, and I've learnt that I generally can't bear the taste of liquor undiluted by mixers. Ordered the schnapps and left it unfinished because the taste of alcohol was too overwhelming. Bought Byatt's Angels & Insects from Page One, and I like it. Her writing's always so lush and evocative. I really need to find a Vintage International edition of Possession...
