Auntie Mabel was saying how she always tells people that worship leading is mostly caught, not taught. Reflecting on that, I have to agree that it's generally true. I mean, you can advise someone and guide them, but really, in the end you either can lead or you can't. This would be an appropriate point to reanimate the perpetual debate about talent versus calling, but suffice to say that I thank God all the time that the two intersect in my person. I think I still have much to learn, although I'm not entirely certain that I can learn it from the people in church. Just read a tract by Watchman Nee about the difference between ministering to the house and ministering to God. Don't really understand it, except that Nee argues that what God really wants is people to minister to Him. This week: Administrative Professionals WeekŪ Karaoke Week National Park Week |
