Perhaps it's a generation gap thing, but I don't feel anything for a lot of the songs she dredges up from hymnals or wherever it is she finds them. It's also a bit annoying to be told to open your mouth wider in pursuit of what is really an unnecessary tonal embellishment, at least for myself. We're not doing opera here! It's the little things that annoy. So I try my best to comply, seeing as how I can't claim any technical training other than what four years in a choir has taught me. Sigh. Sang the song she wants me to use at Communion, and it's nice, one of the nicest she's ever picked out in fact. Thankfully, she intends it to be a duet, at most a trio, and herself not part of it...
