Watched Ghost Rider today because that was one of the few movies Natalie could watch. (Everything lately is NC16 or M18!) Didn't really want to watch it because I'm not really into the whole comic-book-to-silver-screen thing. In the end, the movie was okay, in a somewhat brainless way. The more I think about it, a lot of movies don't really have very satisfying plot development. Lack of time isn't an excuse! The Painted Veil had an excellent plot. It's like plays. If you can get a good plot going for two hours, why can't you do the same with a movie? Anyway, the whole demonic angle is so trite. Random demonic being wants to overthrow the established ruler of Hell. Now where have I seen that one before? Oh yeah, Constantine. I must say though, Nicholas Cage has a really buff body for a guy his age, though I still think he's not really the kind of guy you'd pair with Eva Mendes. I want to watch meatier stuff, like Little Children or Notes From A Scandal! Then again, I don't mind brainless fluff, like this horror movie that's coming out, The Messengers. If I pick it, I'll watch it, whatever the reason may be.
