Valentine's Day/Hug Day/Heart To Heart Day/Have A Heart Day/Statehood Day (Oregon)/Admission Day (Arizona)/Ferris Wheel Day

Jackpot! Paydirt! My IC is so pleased with the report he not only openly praised me, I'm now going to review a bunch of lesson plans for him, rewriting them with a view to enhancing their clarity. Apparently, the military doesn't hire people who write clearly and sensibly. So I've got two months to complete the job, and when it's all done, two days off as a reward. I volunteered the moment my IC opened his mouth to ask, since I know very clearly the benefits of doing work for him. This way, I'm even less likely to be picked to go to Taiwan, since although it's supposed to be strictly voluntary, we all know that when push comes to shove, someone's name is going to have to be raised, and I sure as heck won't let it be mine if I can do anything about it. I'm supposed to get one of my colleagues in the store to help me, so whoever that lucky guy turns out to be he's, well, lucky. Not much of a choice, since the prerequisite is good English, and on a personal level, he has to be someone I think deserves to get that two days off too. Not that I'm the most deserving, but at least I pull my weight around this place. Most of us do anyway, it's just some rotten apples. Chinese apples, to be precise. Eugene will know who I'm referring to...
