Just finished reading The Ingredients by Philip Ball, which is a pop science book that introduces the elements and the place they have in our culture. Not bad, but it's a pretty short book, and I'm really more interested in the actual science. I've always liked chemistry. More than once, I've told people that one of the things I regret about my JC education is not having done 'A' Level Chemistry. Weird, yeah? I've also borrowed a book entitled Pooh And The Philosophers, which makes out a case for the Pooh books encompassing all but the most recent developments in Western philosophy. It's somewhat convincing, though most people would probably dismiss it as a joke. I buy it, if only because it does seem hard to deny that there's most to A.A. Milne's books than meets the eye at first glance. Come to think of it, I never read them when I was growing up. Think I missed out on anything? Haha...
