Getting the link up today was almost a breeze. I say almost, because the trainees actually originally gave me the wrong azimuth. Once that was corrected, it was no problem at all. Now we're just sitting around, waiting for them to swap nodes. Gossip is a vicious thing, but very therapeutic, though you could point out that it's an illusion because you're poisoning yourself. Anyway, it looks like this summary exercise'll end way ahead of schedule, which is great. I just jacked up two additional sections of the mast and nailed a perfect link. Like how awesome is that? First time it's happened during a summary exercise conducted by my batch. Usually we spend most of the time searching in vain for each other's signal and the exercise ultimately gets declared to have been a failure. This is turning out better than I'd thought it would...
