Was supposed to meet Hui Juan and Sarah for lunch at 12.15 pm, but they were both late. So now we're implementing a fine system for latecoming. Now I have to start planning to be on time again, rather than anticipating that everyone else will be late. Sermon today was interesting, about how there needs to be a change in the way we approach pre-believers, because times have changed and in a post-modern era, people don't respond well to assertions that only Christians possess absolute truth. Yesterday, the pastor was sharing about something his friend, formerly from a megachurch, had shared with him. It seems there's a chord that's played to induce people to go forward for altar calls, assuming there aren't enough people coming forward already. It evokes an emotional response that causes people to go forward. That's quite scary, not to mention morally questionable. Anyway, I've been reading Little Children, and it's sad in the way that suburbia is sad. I hope the movie adaptation's good...
