Winter Flowers Day/Brownie Day/Feast Of The Immaculate Conception/Festival Of Lights (California)
2006-12-08 @ 10:50 p.m.

Watched a few recorded movies today, including The Island, which was amazing. One of those rare instances when something that I've recorded because I wanted to watch it when it was showing in the cinemas has actually lived up to my expectations. The product placement was so blatant though. Let's see, we had Puma, Xbox, Ben & Jerry's, and we're just getting started! They apparently had to do it to get enough money to make the movie. I like how Ewan McGregor was able to totally switch accents depending on whether he was playing Lincoln Six Echo or his sponsor, Tom Lincoln. I also saw Constantine, which disappointed. I was expecting something more disturbing, but it turned out to be a rather generic film. Like the most controversial thing was an angel, Gabriel, trying to help the son of Satan, Mammon, to dominate the mortal realm, and falling as a result. That scene was kind of cool, the wings burning off and all. Heard the comic it's based on is a lot better. You know what they say about movie adaptations...
