Officially a latchkey kid until Sunday, although as Shirley put it, at my age it really means absolute freedom. I just did the laundry, made myself soup and instant noodles, and now I'm going to devour a bag of chips while vegetating in front of some mindless show. Go me. Persuaded Ben Woon to watch a movie with me on Friday, though our plan might fall through due to mutual laziness. Again. Well, at least we've decided that we both don't want to go to Lido. I'm sure I've said this before somewhere, but I'm going to say it again: I find it incomprehensible that people my age want to hang out at Lido. That place gives off bad vibes, sort of like what I imagine those cinemas frequented by dirty old men must be like. Then again, I can't understand most of the things people do. Like dress in ways that do nothing to flatter them at all. The other day, I saw this woman in a blouse that covered nothing below her breasts. The problem? Her wobbling tummy. While I don't have taut abs myself, at least I don't go around flaunting their absence! Rule number one when it comes to dressing yourself: Always dress to conceal the bad and reveal the good. It's so idiot-proof really, but so few people out on the streets in Singapore get it. |
