As predicted, things went badly. Well, they did change the topology of the network right at the start of the exercise, so at least things weren't as bad as they might have been. Then again, since the node stationed outside had to make their way back to camp before we could get all three nodes linked up, I suppose the whole thing still qualifies as a disaster. Whatever. I've got a blister on my left index finger because I accidentally touched the end of the RF cable while the radio was still on. Talk about doing stupid things, and all while trying to get the bloody radio link up. Remind me again why I hate going for summary exercises? At least the trainees today were good, and I don't even mean that in just a relative way. Had to stay back in camp for Commander's Evening, which was mildly entertaining at best and numbingly boring at worst. I suspect that MDC performances for its military customers are basically variations on a standard formula. The singers were good though, which pretty much proves that Singapore Idol is really a crummy barometer of local vocal talent.
