I have no idea why this summary exercise is starting so late. It's already time for lunch and the trainees haven't showed up. Then again, I suppose it doesn't matter what time we start, since their course commander has decided that we'll only cut the exercise at 6 am tomorrow for safety reasons. Apparently, driving on deserted roads in the middle of the night is way more dangerous than competing with the morning traffic, especially when you're not coping with the additional couple of sleepless hours resulting from the prolonging of said exercise. What is the man thinking? Mark my words, there'll be trouble today. Just look at the topology of the meshed network that our radio links are supposed to construct. One of the crucial links is dependent on the lousiest radio we have. If that isn't a disaster waiting to happen, I don't know what is.
