Honey Bee Day/Monarch Day/Pumpkin Festival (Oklahoma)/Autumn Festival (New York)/Simchat Torah
2006-10-14 @ 10:09 p.m.

Was supposed to go and repair my Zen Touch today, but I've discovered that its problems extend to the battery too, which refuses to charge. Went for my annual eye examination, and my degree has worsened insignificantly. Not enough to warrant making a new pair of glasses anyway. I swear I'm going to have a new pair made before I go overseas. Either that, or I'll get over my fear of sticking stuff into my eyes and switch to contacts. Stopped by HMV before going home to pick up my mum, who was waiting for the washing machine to be repaired. The pricing system at HMV is arbitrary, at least from my point of view. How else can you explain the fact that CDs, which cost about $20 at other music stores, can cost you anywhere from around $10 to $40? Weird! Can someone explain this to me? I saw Emblems in the New Age section, which is Amethystium's latest album, consisting mostly of tracks from the "dragonfly trilogy", plus a couple of previously unreleased tunes. At $43, it's actually cheaper for me to beg one of my friends to bring a copy back for me from the USA, and probably still cheaper if I just bought it through Amazon. Why is the music that I love so hard to obtain in Singapore?

Just got back from Causeway Point, where my dad discovered that the Courts there no longer stocks CD players. One day, there'll be no CD players left in all the stores, and the music companies will still be whining about how CD sales are done and piracy is really hurting them. Of course I know that's not the whole picture, but seriously, no CD players at all? Then it was off to G2000 to get a blazer for tomorrow's wedding dinner. Would have got a shirt, but it was too much of a hassle to decide between a lot of stuff that I was only okay with and not crazy about. Bought two pairs of jeans because I didn't have denim in those two colours, and one t-shirt because it was on sale and looked reasonably good. In any case, my dad picked up the tab for everything. I wish I had to attend wedding dinners every week! Haha...
