So now I have to record my progress in terms of vocal training. As if I don't already have enough to do! Well, technically I don't, but right now, I seriously don't see how any of this is going to help me unless I suddenly decide that I want to transform the Three Tenors into a quartet. I could fake "progress" on the record card, which is what I intend to do, but I just think the whole thing itself is a lot of misdirected good intentions. Why is it that my ability is acknowledged, but I still have to toddle along like everyone else? Let me put it another way. Even without any further training, I can more than hold my own as a singer. It's not a matter of bragging or pride; it's a fact. I didn't exactly spend four years in the choir goofing off! Even then, I was one of the better singers, something that I considered a blessing. Too bad I'll never, ever say any of that to her or anybody else involved in this. Then again, you never know. One day, I might get so annoyed and frustrated by the stupidity of my keeping up pretenses that I'll just burst and say what I really think. Now that would be a really un-Christian thing to do. I just pray the whole thing will end soon. The last I heard, it was supposed to last for six months. I don't think I can last that long! Anyway, someone from YFC was inviting youths to join an a cappella group, and Sicheng was in some of the videos she was playing for us. Talk about random connections. Maybe there is some truth to the whole six degrees of separation thing? (Perhaps not, I just looked i up on Wikipedia. Geek is the new chic, as they say.) Why does the imported version of A Posteriori cost $1 less than the deluxe edition, which incidentally seems to be exactly the same CD in a different sort of packaging? Weird...
