Family Day/New Horizons Day/One Hit Wonder Day
2006-09-25 @ 10:47 p.m.

Chatting with Kay Hwee right now, before he leaves for Taiwan on Wednesday morning at some ungodly hour, and I just remarked that I've never heard anybody in my branch use the correct plural of "antenna". (It's "antennae", just in case you were wondering!) Everyone just says "antennas", myself included. I never realised that until tonight. Damn, I must be starting to speak like everyone else around me. Today, our CO was going on about how he envisioned SI as one big family, and the only thing I could think of was how there'd have to be a funeral first. Now I'm chatting with Yi-Xun, and it just hit me that if SI is one big extended family, my branch is the one that got stuck with the evil stepfather. The lady who sold me a PruSave policy a few weeks ago just tried to call me, but I didn't pick up her call. Not on purpose, mind you, I wasn't in my room to hear my mobile ring. Maybe she was calling to ask when she can bring my policy over, since all I have so far is an official receipt from Prudential stating that my first monthly deposit has been received. I'm probably cancelling the policy anyway, definitely if I can do so without incurring any penalties and still get my deposit back. 25 years is too freaking long for me!
