Today's session in church was kind of draggy. I appreciated the points the speaker was making, but it wasn't the newest of things, at least not to me. Got home later than I'd have liked to, considering I have to be in camp early for the usual Friday morning run. While I was minding my own business and walking into Lot 1 this evening, I was accosted by someone asking me to do a lifestyle survey. I immediately recognised it as the same one that Ben, Thong and I were made to do while walking out of Takashimaya on the day of the class gathering at Rui Min's place. This time, however, I actually signed up for whatever it is they're pushing. It's some sort of tie-up between Prudential and Standard Chartered. I said yes this time because the minimum monthly amount required was $40 instead of $70 (which was what the lady in Orchard told us). The catch is that you can't withdraw from this account, unlike with the other plan. I'll probably find a way to cancel the whole thing, since there's some sort of 14-day evaluation period for any policy. I think my dad considers the whole thing a bad idea, particularly because it's a very long-term plan. 25 freaking years! |
