Blueberry Popsicle Day/Victory (V-J) Day/Independence Day (Vietnam)
2006-09-02 @ 11:48 p.m.

Our new TV arrived today, one of those flat-screen LCD sets that come in the 16:9 ratio designed for HDTV. It looks very difficult to operate. For once, I feel like a technophobe! Plus we got a digital set-top box, so now I can start subscribing to StarHub's digital channels. (I still haven't paid my mum for that three-month HBO subscription!) My dad was still fiddling with everything when I left for the barbeque at Amanda's, but I think he's got everything more or less sorted out right now. Barbeque was okay, I guess. It was kind of weird being like the second oldest person around, and that was only because Gerald showed up after they started cooking. The cooking was actually quite good. Most barbeques I've been to have had horrible chicken wings. These were properly cooked, if a little charred in places. Am downloading a bunch of Nelly Furtado and t.A.T.u. songs, because I was listening to Shu En's iPod nano earlier and I liked the former's Promiscuous and the latter's Gomenasai. I'm going shopping, hopefully next Saturday, because there's a New World Order promotion right now, so maybe I'll get some CDs while I'm out.
