Waffle Day/Can Opener Day/Duck Festival (Louisiana)
2006-08-24 @ 11:57 p.m.

Failed ATP today by one point. Don't really care, except for the potential hassle of having to go for everything again next month. Woke up at an ungodly hour to take a taxi to camp. The fare was exorbitant, costing about $1 for every minute of the ride. I took a cab home too, which means I spent around $40 today, just to be able to sleep in my own bed. Was it worth it? In retrospect, probably yes, but only because this sort of thing doesn't happen everyday. ATP was kind of boring, and the whole thing seemed a bit inefficiently run. A couple of warrant officers were complaining about it behind me in the queue to send arms. There's just no pleasing some people. All they think about is how much of their time has been wasted. What about my time? How come my time's spent doing things for which people don't so much as thank me, but rather take it for granted that just because I'm a lowly NSF lance corporal I should bend over backwards to do whatever makes their life easier? This is one of the reasons why I resent NS. I feel demeaned whenever I'm in a military camp...
