Dinner at Plaza Singapura again, but with more people this time. Obligatory pictures, wandering around mall, conversation, teasing the usual targets. It's funny how easy it is to be around these people, even though I usually see them just once a week, whereas I barely talk to the people in camp I see five days a week. Made a mistake today by stepping into service. Don't want to go down next Sunday, though you know I will, and so I'm going to be stuck feeling guilty about being there but not wanting to be there. Silly, yeah? Evangelism is one area I'm really lazy about. I guess I'm afraid of rejection. That's why I was quite interested in this book at Trumpet Praise about worship evangelism, because that's an area I'd probably feel more comfortable in than going door-to-door giving packets of rice to total strangers. Incidentally, YE started the buddy system again. My buddy's Gerald, which is funny in the sense that I've only known him ever since I joined YE six years ago. Haha! At least they grouped all the post-JC people together, because I can see that I'd have a hard time being the buddy of someone I didn't know fairly well already. To paraphrase an old Friendster testimonial Shirley wrote for me, it takes time to get to know me. Judging from experience, I'd say about two years. Minimum.
